From School Days to Soulmates
Joshua and Nicole’s love story has its roots all the way back in secondary school. Even though they didn’t really know each other at the time, life had a way of keeping them in orbit. Over the years, they started exchanging messages, growing closer with every chat, until they finally decided to take the leap and start dating.
“We were always told we were too young to be serious,” Nicole remembers. “But we both knew it was something special.” It wasn’t dramatic or flashy—it was simple, honest, and real from the start.
When Everything Became Clear
For Joshua and Nicole, the pandemic changed everything. Suddenly, the world felt fragile, and the people you loved felt even more important.
“Covid really put everything into perspective,” Nicole says. “We realised we didn’t want to spend a day apart again.”
They both valued the same things in life. They wanted the same future. And somewhere in all of that shared vision, they found something unshakeable.
A Sunset Proposal in Tenerife
Joshua knew he wanted to make the proposal truly memorable. It started with drinks on the rooftop bar of their hotel, soaking in the view and the anticipation. Then came a beautiful meal overlooking the beach in Tenerife, timed perfectly for the sunset.
After dinner, they strolled onto the beach to “take photos.” Nicole had no idea what was coming. As the sun sank below the horizon, Joshua got down on one knee.
“It was perfect,” Nicole says. “So personal and so us.”
A Thoughtful and Ethical Choice
When it came to the ring, Nicole always knew what she wanted, and Joshua had been paying attention. “I’d always wanted moissanite instead of diamond because it’s more ethical and cost-effective,” Nicole explains. “I also wanted to support a smaller business rather than a big company.”
Joshua knew the classic oval shape she loved and chose exactly that.
Seeing the Ring for the First Time
Nicole was genuinely stunned when she saw the final ring.
“It was more beautiful than I could ever have asked for,” she says. “The clarity in the stone was amazing, and the prongs were just divine. I was in genuine shock at how incredible it was when it caught the light.”
She adds, “I can’t thank you enough for everything you did for our engagement.”
A Symbol of Patience and Love
For Nicole, the ring is more than just beautiful.
“It reflects our relationship by showing that good things come to those who wait,” she says. It’s a promise of everything they’ve built together and everything still to come.
Looking Forward to Building a Life Together
The next chapter is already taking shape. Joshua and Nicole hope to get married within the next few years and buy a house together. With Joshua starting his own business, they’re both excited to see all his hard work pay off and build the future they’ve dreamed of.
Their Advice for Other Couples
Nicole has one big piece of advice for couples planning their rings:
“Research all the elements you want in a ring and make sure you have that conversation with your partner so it can still be a surprise. I was so surprised with my ring because Joshua had really listened.”
